The PLAN Approach

We let the child lead us to where we need to go.

The PLAN center is a unique ABA program near downtown Frederick. Our whole-child and arts-integrated approach provides opportunities for both discrete trial AND group activities with social opportunities sprinkled throughout every day.

From the moment a child or teen walks in our door, they start working on independence and daily living skills. Our program alternates between 1:1 discrete trial training, where individual goals are targeted, and group activities, where skills are practiced in a natural and engaging way.

Our goal is to teach skills in a comfortable and stress-free environment, and then immediately practice the skills in a natural setting. The children have opportunities to interact, play and engage in group activities multiple times a day.

Additionally, PLAN targets school readiness skills and school behavior. PLAN provides daily opportunities to engage in activities like art, music, circle-time, centers, PE, yoga and obstacle courses. We also work on fine and gross motor skills as well as target sensory behavior and spatial awareness.

Natural Environment Learning

At the heart of PLAN and our ABA therapies is Natural Environment Learning. This approach leads to more than just memorizing a skill, it also shows children how and when to use that skill as well.

At PLAN we believe that learning and growth should be fun, filled with wonder, and inspire moments of awe.

Our Services

Little Fox Program

18 months through 5 years old

The Little Fox program is a dynamic early intervention program for preschool aged children. We teach school readiness behavior, communication, and social skills in a preschool-like fully integrated therapeutic program.

5 through 21 years old

Therapy with Integrated Social Time (TWIST) is a program as vibrant as the children and teens who participate. We facilitate meaningful relationships, conversation, and play through group activities, direct therapy and peer interaction.

Family Connections

All Ages

A child’s family is the most important component of their life, which is why family is such a huge part of our program. Through hands-on training, collaboration, and teamwork, the Family Connection connects families and helps support meaningful interactions between families and their child.
